History
PMR Race Cars was founded by Phil Mandella over 30 years ago. What began as a backyard drag‑car operation has evolved into a full‑service speed shop and fabrication facility, offering not only thousands of in‑stock high‑performance parts but also custom‑built race cars, street rods, and precision‑engineered components manufactured in‑house.
Family‑owned and operated, PMR carries a deep racing heritage that spans two generations — combining craftsmanship, innovation, and hands‑on racing experience to deliver parts and builds you can trust on race day.

Phil Mandella
Phil Mandella is a lifelong drag racer, master fabricator, and founder of PMR Race Cars. With more than 60 years in the sport, he’s known for building some of the most trusted chassis and race cars in Southern California.
A proven competitor, Phil captured an NHRA Super Stock GT/AA class championship, showcasing the same precision and craftsmanship that define his builds. His dedication to drag racing earned him one of the sport’s highest honors — induction into the NHRA Drag Racing Hall of Fame at the California Hot Rod Reunion, recognizing his “Greatness, Hard Work, Dedication, and Sacrifice.”
Phil is celebrated by racers and peers alike — often called “The Best Chassis Builder out there, and a great guy too” — and continues to shape the sport through craftsmanship, mentorship, and a racing heritage that spans generations.
Tony Mandella
Tony Mandella is the CFO and Operations Manager at PMR Enterprises, where he oversees daily operations, project flow, and product development with the same precision he brings to the starting line. A lifelong racer and three‑time NHRA Division 7 Competition Eliminator Champion, Tony has finished in the Top 10 nationally in both Comp Eliminator and Super Stock classes.
Under his leadership, PMR has grown from a four‑person family shop into a full‑scale fabrication and performance enterprise — tripling revenue and expanding its reach across the motorsports industry. Tony’s approach blends business discipline with racer instinct, ensuring every PMR product meets the same standards demanded on race day.
When he’s not managing builds or refining operations, Tony is behind the wheel, continuing the Mandella family’s racing legacy with the same drive that built PMR’s reputation for excellence.
